Breakfast – muesli with berries and yoghurt

Lunch – vegi curry with weird chickpea dumpling things in and rice

3pm snack – small avocado and mayo sarnie

Dinner – vegi curry again padded out with spinach

one coffee, 2 teas and I am about to have a glass of wine.

weight 10st 3, dieting strategy – no cakes and sugar, go easy on bread and pasta

Day 2 of normality – waist 31.5 inches

Quick update of my eating (and drinking)

Monday night – 4 pints of ale and half a slice of cheese on toast (that was day 12 of Go Lower)

Tuesday – pub lunch of a pint of beer, steak and chips, dinner of squash and chickpea curry, olive, spinach and mozerella bread and fruit crumble with oatly cream. Half a pint of beer.

Wednesday – porridge honey and yoghurt and a pasty for lunch so far.

My strategy for this week is to just eat good food in moderation. I am cutting out cakes and sweet snacks and seeing if that makes a difference in my measurements and weight. Loss of 1/2 inch so far makes me happy!

Day 12 – enough is enough, I end the Go Lower diet

After days of constipation, hunger and a bad taste in my mouth, a weight loss of 1lb and no change in my measurements I GIVE UP!

No more Go Lower diet for me. It just did not work.

I am sure this diet works for some people, but just not for me.

On the positive side I know that I can stick to something if I really want to, so after a day or so of not thinking about food I will be blogging again, but this time I will eat a more traditionally healthy diet with loads of lovely fruit and veg.

Day 12 of the Go Lower diet, total weight loss of 1 pound

Since I weighed myself a few days ago, I have no idea what I weighed at the start.

Just about to heat up a bowl of cat food lookalike for lunch, I wouldn’t have minded going through all the horrors of this if it had actually made a difference. If I had eaten properly for 12 days, cut out bread and sweet things I am sure I would have lost more and my skin would have looked better. And I wouldn’t feel like mice had made a nest in my mouth.

I am not giving up yet though.

Day 11 Go Lower, waist 32, breakfast

Well, I was hungry at about 4 this morning, but got back to sleep and then didn’t manage to have breakfast until noon.  I am just having berries with the cereal now, no yoghurt.

Bit bored of food in a bag, it looks so much like cat food that my cat is all over me when I open a sachet but it tastes nice. I think I have a couple of things I have not tried yet though.

Energy levels are good too.

Day 10, waist 32 inches ketosis at last

Ahh, not hungry any more, yippee. Hunger has been a total obsession for me for over a week and I am bored silly of it.

Now I know not to start the day with a huge does of carbs it seems to be working. I was driving for much of the day so I had

Breakfast and berries (I weighed out 100gms and it is about 3 times as much as I guessed it was, which is great!), no yoghurt an some soya milk.

I took a flask of watered down soup (so it filled the flask and stayed hot) with me on the journey and a smaller flask of coffee, and on the trip back had a salad of egg, ham, olives and spinach. I took chewey bars but didn’t need them. It is tea time now but I could wait a bit longer easily.

I have asked Go Lower for proper guidelines to veg portions, as I severely underestimated the amount of berries I should have I am hoping that the veg portions will be suprisingly generous too. If I had paid for this diet I would be furious that I wasted 9 days of it eating things that kept me out of ketosis because the instructions were not clear.

Innards are working ok, pooing fine, no lethargy or tiredness but my skin has a rather nasty waxy feel to it.
