Where is my sweet tooth?
I went to a vegi and vegan fair today, lots of free samples but I didn’t feel like gorging on them at all. I tried most things, wasn’t tempted to eat my sons icecream and didn’t fancy a cake at the cafe.
Breakfast – porridge with nuts and dried fruit
Lunch – avocado, spinach and 2 bits of toast with olive oil and pepper
Dinner – baked potato and tuna mayo in the pub with a pint of beer
When I got home I had some mulled wine and a couple of biccies, I didn’t really fancy them but they were there, gingerbread iced ones. 2 biccies was enough.
During the Go Lower experiment I had no sugar for a couple of weeks and when I did have some it was far too sugary popcorn that we made at home. I just couldn’t stop eating it and I felt pretty rough after for hours.
I think it made me realise that too much sugar makes me feel awful, it is just not worth it!

I am now 10st, just by not eating cake and eating loads of veg. I have been drinking lots of wine too, yippee!

day 2 healthy eating diet
add half a bottle of home made elderflower wine to yesterdays food!
Today I have had porridge with nuts and berries and soya milk
Dinner, salad, pumpkin and pastry thing in Ikea with root veg, I was not tempted by the cakes!
Weighed myself in Mothercare while I was getting T a new car seat and i says I am nearly 10.5 stone with my bag and shoes – 9.5 without! Not the most accurate scales in the world!

Go Lower stuff gone and a new start
Go Lower have finally taken the box of food, either that or someone stole it, but at least it is gone.
Today’s food diary
Breakfast – muesli with berries and yoghurt
Lunch – vegi curry with weird chickpea dumpling things in and rice
3pm snack – small avocado and mayo sarnie
Dinner – vegi curry again padded out with spinach
one coffee, 2 teas and I am about to have a glass of wine.
weight 10st 3, dieting strategy – no cakes and sugar, go easy on bread and pasta

GoLower update – I can’t get onto the forum!
I posted a note on the Go Lower forum saying that the diet evidently did not work for everyone as I stuck to it perfectly with no results for 12 days, but good luck everyone and I hope it works for you.
I can no longer get into the forum so I am guessing that they have removed my login details.
I am trying to give the boxes of food back to them but they are not responding to emails.

Day 2 of normality – waist 31.5 inches
Quick update of my eating (and drinking)
Monday night – 4 pints of ale and half a slice of cheese on toast (that was day 12 of Go Lower)
Tuesday – pub lunch of a pint of beer, steak and chips, dinner of squash and chickpea curry, olive, spinach and mozerella bread and fruit crumble with oatly cream. Half a pint of beer.
Wednesday – porridge honey and yoghurt and a pasty for lunch so far.
My strategy for this week is to just eat good food in moderation. I am cutting out cakes and sweet snacks and seeing if that makes a difference in my measurements and weight. Loss of 1/2 inch so far makes me happy!

Day 12 – enough is enough, I end the Go Lower diet
After days of constipation, hunger and a bad taste in my mouth, a weight loss of 1lb and no change in my measurements I GIVE UP!
No more Go Lower diet for me. It just did not work.
I am sure this diet works for some people, but just not for me.
On the positive side I know that I can stick to something if I really want to, so after a day or so of not thinking about food I will be blogging again, but this time I will eat a more traditionally healthy diet with loads of lovely fruit and veg.

Day 12 of the Go Lower diet, total weight loss of 1 pound
Since I weighed myself a few days ago, I have no idea what I weighed at the start.
Just about to heat up a bowl of cat food lookalike for lunch, I wouldn’t have minded going through all the horrors of this if it had actually made a difference. If I had eaten properly for 12 days, cut out bread and sweet things I am sure I would have lost more and my skin would have looked better. And I wouldn’t feel like mice had made a nest in my mouth.
I am not giving up yet though.
